Exam II – Friday - 100 points: Multiple Choice
11/01/02 in class
Final Exam - - 200 points: Comprehensive
Lecture Quizzes - 50 points Will be announced - Expect these on Fridays
Laboratory - 100 points: *10 prelab quizzes, 5 points each = 50 points.
Comprehensive laboratory final exam = 50 points.
This comprehensive laboratory exam will
include 25 multiple choice questions worth
2 points each and will be Part II of the exam
given during finals week.
Total 550 points
Important Note Regarding Laboratory: You must attend your scheduled laboratory section and complete the laboratory exercises in order to take and receive credit for the prelab quizzes, i.e. you may not “drop into” any lab and expect to take the quiz or perform the laboratory exercise and you will not receive credit for your quiz if you do not complete the exercises. If you find it necessary to miss a lab, excused absences may be obtained from Dr. Adler. An absence will be excused only with written verification of an acceptable problem or conflict. Examples: Physicians note, memo from the Counseling Center, excuse from the Dean of Students, letter verifying a planned interview trip, etc. Students who obtain excused absences will be given written permission to attend a lab section other than their regularly scheduled section and may take the quiz given in that section. Students with unexcused absences may not make up the laboratory exercise and may not take the quiz. They will receive a 0 for the session that was missed.
Grading Scale:
90.0 - 100% = A 70.0 - 75.0% = C
85.1 - 89.9% = AB 65.1 - 69.9% = CD
80.0 - 85.0% = B 60.0 - 65.0% = D
75.1 - 79.9% = BC 59.9% or less = F
Resurrection Points: The grading in this course is such that you cannot permanently lose any points on the hour exams. Each of the two hour exams will cover several weeks’ work; the lecture final will cover those same segments plus the last few weeks. It will consist of three sections corresponding to this material. The number of points assigned to each of the first two sections of the lecture portion of your final exam will be increased by the number of points you lost on the corresponding hour exam, thus giving you the opportunity to resurrect those points.
Bonus Points: Grading for Laboratory - See lab handout.
